Roasting the Perfect Cauli
Getting the perfectly roasted cauliflower shouldnt be this complicated endeavor. It’s just a matter of knowing what type of end product you want: a whole head or sliced in steaks. If it’s the latter (pictured), making sure you have thick (1.5” to 2” cross sections) and even slices is key. If you are looking to have an intact whole head roasted, it is best to carve a bit of the stem out—being careful not to cut too much and risk the head falling apart while cooking— and blanch in boiling water for 3-5 min first. We at @wahlswholistickids are not huge fans of this method as it robs some of the taste and nutrients but makes for prettyyyyyyy presentation!
Instructions for getting perfectly roasted steaks are below…
* Preheat oven to 400.
* Place cut steaks onto lined baking sheet/roasting pan
* Stray or thinly coat with refined coconut oil
* Season with salt, pepper and other spices (we like garlic powder, paprika, oregano) to taste
* Roast for 30-45 min, depending on how deeply roasted you like it!
