Dr. Ellie MacGregor

Dr. Ellie MacGregor, DO is a Board-Certified General Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). She  studied under Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona School of Integrative Medicine where she completed her  2 year fellowship training program in Integrative Medicine.  She is also a trained Osteopathic Pediatrician.  Additionally, she is a certified Ashtanga Yoga instructor who completed 500 hours of yoga training, rounding out her mind-body skills.

Dr. MacGregor is a “citizen of the world”  who was born in Northern Ireland.  She has lived in eight different U.S. states, over thirteen different communities and has traveled extensively.  Meeting so many different people from diverse backgrounds has helped fuel her friendly manner and eagerness to help families navigate the tricky world of healthcare.

Dr. Macgregor developed an early interest in Integrative Medicine.  While obtaining her undergraduate degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry, she wrote her Honor’s thesis on ‘Complementary and Alternative medicine’.  Upon entering medical school and later during residency she noticed that not only did her patients need whole body healing but so did many physicians, nurses and staff.  She began developing her own mind-body practices by doing yoga, meditation and guided imagery.

After her residency she spent seven years practicing and teaching pediatrics to other physicians in Utah.  She prides herself on on helping others realize their own medical dreams and hopes to inspire more generations of physicians to enter Integrative Medicine.  She has effectively treated numerous children struggling with chronic problems such as asthma, eczema, GERD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and migraine headaches by facilitating the body’s internal healing response.  She strongly believes in preventative care and works to truly understand the whole child, including their family, lifestyle, diet, etc. She is very well versed in the use of all conventional medical treatments (surgery, antibiotics, etc.) but is equally knowledgeable in the healing power of diet, supplements, botanicals, mind-body-spirit medicine and osteopathic medicine. She believes the relationship between physician and patient/family is paramount, so she works hard to make sure all her families feel comfortable in her care.

In her personal time, Dr. MacGregor enjoys experimenting in the kitchen by cooking up healthy and delicious recipes. Her favorite cuisines being Mediterranean and Indian food.  She is an avid hiker and animal lover, spending hours hiking  with her dog, Rocket.  She loves to swim, meditate and practice yoga.
